Why I Love Photographing Weddings at The Moat House
The Moat House offers so much variety for wedding photography throughout the day. From the beautiful lakeside setting and landscaped gardens to the elegant ceremony and reception spaces, every part of the venue provides opportunities to create natural and memorable images. One of my favourite things about photographing weddings here is how effortlessly the venue lends itself to documentary wedding photography. The layout allows guests to relax and enjoy themselves, creating countless genuine interactions, laughter and emotional moments that unfold naturally throughout the day.The waterside location also provides stunning opportunities for couple portraits without taking you away from your guests for long periods. Whether it’s a quiet walk by the lake, a few moments together at sunset or simply enjoying the surroundings, the venue offers beautiful backdrops that complement a relaxed and natural style of photography.

My Documentary Wedding Photography Approach
My approach is centred around storytelling rather than staging. I work in an unobtrusive way, allowing your wedding day to unfold naturally while capturing the moments, emotions and details that make your celebration unique.
Drawing on my background in documentary and editorial photography, I anticipate moments before they happen, enabling me to capture authentic reactions, joyful celebrations and the connections between family and friends. These are often the photographs couples treasure most because they reflect how the day genuinely felt. While documentary coverage forms the heart of my work, I also understand the importance of family group photographs and beautiful portraits together. I’ll guide these moments in a relaxed and efficient way, ensuring you receive a complete collection of images without spending hours away from your guests.
