It's impossible to continue the story of Amy and Mick's day, if I'm being honest, without a little more about those Beetle beauties! With their ceremony taking place at St John The Baptist Church, Wetley Rocks and the main event at Consall Hall Gardens, the bride and groom, as well as the rest of the wedding party needed a little transport arranging, and just so that nobody felt left out, they all travelled in style. I know, I know, you should talk about the beautiful bride first, but alas, I MUST focus on Mick and his 'other' love to begin with, his very own camper van.

Now before I cover too much more of the day itself, I must first congratulate the happy couple, Zoe and Lee on their simply wonderful wedding day. As a wedding photographer, it is not uncommon to see a few pre match nerves. Sometimes, the jitters are clearly about whether the bride or groom or both are doing the right thing. Mums get involved, dads have their say, tears start to role, questions get asked... are we even going to make it down the aisle?
Now, having just gone into superlatives overdrive, it would be amiss of me not to begin with a little more about Lee's little Defender. As a man passionate about all things Land Rover, the world renowned off road vehicle manufacturer (built not all that far from me in the Midlands), Lee, our groom to be, carried that passion through to his own motor. I always admire a clean car, but this little beauty could be used as a dinner plate, you really could eat your evening meal off of it.
It isn't very often, as a wedding photographer, that you are part of something truly unique. Sure, you'll see some quaint touches, a few finishes here and there that make you look twice and say 'wow'. However, that feeling of being a part of something completely different and memorable, is quite unusual. Another thing that many people might find unusual is being formally invited to celebrate a couples wedding day... the night before! You have indeed read that right, Mark and Shaun's guests for their big day knew nothing until the evening prior.
When I say rained, I really do mean it RAINED. Surrounded by the beautiful couple of Eve and Adam, their wonderful, friendly guests, and the stunning scenery on offer at Cripps Barn, I couldn't think of many better places to be a wedding photographer on that day... but the weather threatened to ruin my mood. Dusting myself down, and giving myself a mini pep talk, I looked to the positives... photoshoots in the rain don't half come out well, and they add so much atmosphere to an image, this could end up being an unlikely bonus.
